Hey everyone
I recently quit my job coz my employer wasn't treating me right. I need to find another job but can't fully understand what's going on with LMOs. Are employers able to apply for it again? I live in Alberta and there are usually lots of ads hiring foreign workers but now there's none. Is there possibility this situation is gonna change?
If anyone has any information please let me know!!!
P.S. I just applied for PR under Family class 2 months ago but I don't want to wait till I get OWP unemployed... Really need advice

Yes - employers can certainly apply for LMIAs right now. A few months ago they raised the LMIA fee to $1K. So this may be the reason why you aren't seeing as many ads for foreign workers.

Ok so let's say someone is willing to hire me and apply for LMIA, it's probably gonna take forever to get it and then apply for work permit?

Ughhhhh I hate this situation, I wish my employer wasn't such a douche, then I could keep my job :(

They have to advertise the job for a month then put your application in which can take anywhere from 6-16 weeks to get a response. I received a positive LMIA recently in about 10 weeks. Depending where your from you can flagpole to get your work permit at the border.
