Hi All.....

Some ABC company have called me and they are willing to process for LMIA for me if my profile ( .net ) gets suited for their job vacancy.

My questions is:

My profile is based on .net development. (I heard that the employer should recruit the foriegner only if he doesn't find the local capable candidate. But I am sure he can find a many good resources on .net in canada. I dont know why he is coming to me) can I beleive him and proceed with him. Please suggest.)

Did you apply for this job or did they contact you? If they contacted you - be careful, it's quite possible this is a scam. Never pay money in exchange for an LMIA or work permit. If they ask you for money - it's a scam.

Yup, a PR lmia is free for the employer. Don't fall for a scam.

I have applied long back for this job through job bank. They are not asking for money as of now. But is it possible to get approved positive lmia even though he finds many .net specialists in Canada ?

Well now it all depends on the employer to do all the work. They have to advertise the job for 4 weeks before they can send off the lmia forms. They do all the work. Think they just need a resume from you to submit it. If this is all legit then after they wait 4 weeks of advertising, conduct interviews with Canadians and send off the forms (making sure they tick the lmia for PR box) then you should have your lmia in 2-3 months).

Thanks for your reply ...
Why are they looking for me .. Is there any benefit for them in hiring me. And more over will lmia come positive for me in this case??

The positive outcome depends on the companies ability to apply for the lmia properly - like we have to ensure all of the EE documents are ready and in order.

My employer in Canada had my LmIA refused, but that was, I believe, just a shitty officer who looked for an excuse.

As for WHY they found you, it's called head hunting, which is common in the IT business. They may legitimately need you. Go with it for now, but if they EVER ask for a penny then it is a scam. Applying for LMIA for them is completely free (as long as they select PR lmia) so never, ever give them money.

There's some benefits. They might be able to pay you under the prevailing wage for the role without you realising. Also the work permit you get will be tied to that employer so you can't leave to work for a local competitor, unless you get LMIA with them too.
