Be superactive on LinkedIn. Get connected to as many recruiters possible. That's how I got through. And still receive atleast 70-10 mails weekly on open positions asking for my availability. If you are in O&G there's a forum for O&G recruiters only which is for Saudi, Canada and other oil producing countries. So you will keep receiving job advs from round the world. For the time being your focus sure is Canada but it's good to be informed of the employment situation worldwide Good luck !
