LMIA for CEC

Hi, I have been working for an employer since Feb 2014 on a post-grad work permit and want to apply for LMIA for Canadian experience class to get those 600 points. Just have the folowing question: In the LMIA application what should I fill in the expected employment start date? Should it be after my work permit expire. This Lmia will be only to support PR application as my work permit wil be expiring next year

I don't think you can apply for LMIA on your own. It is really up to your employer to do so.
And employer should satisfy Minister of Employment and Social Development that they can not find any worker within the Canada and want to hire foreign one.

The best option is to hire lawyer for this, otherwise it's quite hard to go through this process successfully.
Speak with your employer, i think LMIA should be free of charge if you have EE file created.

If the rules are anything like the previous thing (LMO) then only employer can apply for it and you're not allowed to pay for it. LMO/LMIAs are frequently denied, so make sure your application is rock solid. Having your salary above median for that kind of works also helps - I've seen applications rejected only because they were for underpaid junior employee.

I have seen opposite example: Only a bit underpaid application been approved while overpaid been rejected.

That's why i am mentioned to hire lawyer.

Thanx for replying. My employer is applying for LMIA not me and while completion of the application he chose to support PR application option, what confused about the expected date of employment start date as I am already working for him. Should it be after my work permit expires?
