I'm currently on pgwp and working for a construction company in ontario. My enployer is ready to apply for lmia. I Have a question is there any fee for lmia in my case which my employer has to pay?

Are you obtaining an LMIA for EE PR purposes or just to get a closed work permit for 2 years?

Traditional LMIA would be $1,000 (for your employer to pay, you are not responsible for this) and any work permit fees.

I'm not sure about these new LMIAs associated with the Express Entry system for PR. I got my LMIA last year the traditional route!

If your employer applies for an LMIA for PR support ONLY, then there is no application fee. This is the kind that will give you 600 points in EE, but cannot be used to extend your work permit.

If your employer applies for an LMIA for PR support AND work permit, there is a $1000 fee. This will let you get 600 points in EE, AND also apply to extend your work permit if needed.
