LMIA Expiry Date and application still in progress.....

Hello.

Our complete application for Skilled Worker and Permanent Residency was submitted and paid on 10 Feb 2016.
My LMIA Letter expires on 4 May 2016 - if I dont have an answer on my application by then does it mean I need to get a new LMIA letter?

The only information on the actual document said that I need to have applied before that date.

It dosent matter. All you had to do is apply before May 4. Same as here, my application is still in progress and mine got expired on 28th November. My AOR date is 10th November. You dont have to worry about this. Cheers.

I think even with expired LIMIA as long as you work for same employer in a workpermit should be able to submit.

Wrong! You have to have a valid LMIA to apply for PR. As i said he has applied withing the parameters so wont be a problem.

With mutual respect, I know what I write and as a matter of fact I have a valid job offer and on a work permit LIMIA based where my LIMIA expired and CIC ok with that.

Im talking about outland applicants who have LMIA. One of my friend got a LMIA and it got expired before he applies and he had to renew it before he apply. No hard feelings buddy.

The original author of this topic didnt mention if the applicant inland or outland, however my findings for inland as well someone who poses workpermit.

If the LMIA was specifically for PR then as long as it was valid at the time of application submission, then it's fine. We applied in December and my husbands PR specific LMIA expired in January.

What if the LIMIA issued for a workpermit and it expired while the workpermit still valid ? I hope that should work as long as the permanent job offer is from same employer with no LIMIA required.

Don't think I can correctly answer that and it might be something that needs confirming with IRCC. Although not sure you would be able to answer 'yes' to the question regarding having an LMIA backed work permit as the details you enter for LMIA would show up as expired when IRCC check.

No problem, I just got that confirmed from CIC. I knew it was ok but when my application processing just dont want to get caught by surprises.
