LMIA Exempt Work permit application from Russia

Hi, did anyone have experience with applying for a work permit online from Russia with an LMIA exempt job offer? My employer gave me a number that starts with A, but when I enter it in into the online application, the system doesn't accept it... and I can't submit my application. Any ways around this? Or what am I doing wrong?
Also, they ask for a document LMIA Work Permit Exemption Explanation. What is that? I am applying for a work permit, so I am not exempt. What doc should I give them? Again, otherwise the system doesn't accept my application. Thanks in advance!

CASE TYPE: When the applicant includes an A# (offer of employment number) in the application, the “Case Type” field is set automatically in GCMS as “52.” This case type should not be changed to any other code for employer-specific, LMIA-exempt work permit applications that require an offer of employment. No other case type will allow the correct linkage in GCMS. Changing the case type to anything other than “52” will negatively impact the integrity of financial and program data in GCMS and might result in blocking the department’s ability to inspect employers.

If the “Employment Details” view tab does not automatically populate
Where the “Case Type” field is set to “52” and the “LMIA/LMIA Exempt #” field is populated, but no information populates the “Employment Details – LMIA Exempt” view tab, it may be due to either of the following:

• the offer of employment number is incorrect or does not exist
• the passport number and citizenship do not match between the offer of employment and the work permit application (any difference, such as a hyphen or an incorrect letter or number, will stop the validation)

We dont use this offer number anywehere except in work permit form. We fill this work permit form and then upload it in our GCkey profile.

Where do you actually put this number? which online form?

It is the "Application for Work Permit Made from Outside of Canada" form.

So you must be filing it using acrobat reader right? I remember once I got error when I press the VALIDATE button in work permit form. Actually I copied offer number from email and paste in the form. Then I noticed there was a space after the last digit of offer number. I removed that space and then was able to save it successfully

thank you! Just figured this out! Finally!. I was not choosing the right option in the "type of work permit you are applying for"... all good now! Thank you for your help!

Did you get your medical upfront?

I also applied LMIA exempt work permit in april 2021 and still waiting for approval.

I suggest you prepare all the required documents including medical and police certificates (if required) and upload all at the time of submission. Then perhaps you recieve a quick decision

Hi, did you apply for GSS category? I have LMIA exempt employement offer and it's Intra Company transfer from US. When I start my application process answering questions to get personalized checklist for WP application, it tells me I may apply for Foreign Worker(visitor visa no work permit required). I am noc2173 which is GSS eligible but it is not WP exempt and nowhere in the questions I said anything like I'm WP exempt. Not sure why it's not giving me a WP checklist. Any idea?

For the question which asks whether your occupation is in following list, select NO (even if you feel the occupation you are applying is appearing in the list)

Then usually in the next step it will show that you need a work permit. I also face same issued but then it worked for me.

Okay, one more thing, in the checklist, it asks for provincial certification for the job as evidence that you qualify, did you get certification?
I'm intra company transfer so my job already provides me with the qualification I need to perform that activity in Canada for the same company. How to deal with this?
