LMIA exempt closed work permit

Hello,

I am currently on a closed work permit expiring on 6th June 2024. Following this I’ll be working with the same employer but with upgraded position. The employer will help me with the LMIA exemption code.

1. Will I be applying for work permit extension or a new work permit given that the employer is same but position is different?

2. Can I make a quick trip to my home country on my current work permit and TRV (valid until 31st MAY)? What would be better to go before applying for work permit or after?

I have also applied for work permit.
Could you please share your experience that how long it takes to get work visa.

And if you were working on LMIA based job then why haven't you received your PR.
Did you make that quick trip to your home country?
