I got my LMIA approved today for my workpermit! Here is my timeline:
March 3rd submit application
April 27th interview from Service Canada to my employer
May 2nd got positive LMIA
So it took about 8-9weeks

In my case the timelines were the following:
Application submitted on Jan 5th 2017
LMIA positive on Jan 19th 2017

Hi all, just wanted to provide a more precise timeline for my LMIA.

Application received by SC on 06-FEB-17
Approved 21-APR-17
Letter received 05-MAY-17
NOC 5241

(Service Canada Toronto)

Best of luck all!

Hello,
With the new changes my question from two weeks ago was apparently lost in cyber space, here it is again.

Regretfully my LMIA was denied, supposedly my employer didn't specify hourly wage 0.o
He's supposed to readvertise the position for 4 weeks and reapply.
My question is, how long the reapplication takes? The first time it took four months to get an answer.
Is it posible to appeal instead?
Thank you.-

Hey all, excellent thread and forum page. I think I've gained a much better insight into the LMIA/PR Application Process than I did from the consultants hired by my company to help me process my LMIA application. My LMIA application was submitted early May and we're just waiting to hear from Service Canada on the interview date for the above. The LMIA is for a permanent job (Retail Management) in Alberta. My question is... is it possible for me to start an Express Entry Profile and start my PR application? and is it possible to find out a bit more about the projected timeline for the LMIA Application? Thanks all!!!

I would expect the LMIA to take 2-4 months to process. There's never an interview required for an LMIA (sometimes for the work permit, but not for the LMIA). You can certainly start your Express Entry profile - however you can't say you have a job offer in Canada until you have the approved LMIA.
