My employer had his final chat with Service Canada today, they are faxing the result tomorrow apparently! I'll keep you posted
I think that's good! Maybe I'm wrong but usually they send rejections by mail, and fax approvals. Hope I'm not wrong.
What did they want to know today?

And so my 11th week begins. Sigh....don't know if I should take it as a good sign or not but when they declined our first LMO application (sent just before the new rules took effect in June) for not meeting advertising requirements we didn't have to wait this long. Looking for a silver lining everywhere I guess.

Is there any hope for expedited processing?..

British Columbia, s/w engineer, top wage.

Heck, I don't wanna wait 12 weeks..

That's a question for Service Canada. I'm pretty sure no one here can tell you anything otherwise as we've yet to here of anyone being processed in 10 days. Furthermore with the holidays approaching I'm pretty sure it's a certain no for the rest of this year. Good luck though....share your story as it progresses with the rest of us here.

I don't know but it seems that LMIA for jobs with a NOC code with a 2 as its second digit (X2XX) are taking longer. Also, of you guys waiting, what type of LMIA did you guys apply for, Temporary Work and Permanent Residency or PR only?

Mine is 7271 in Ontario, PR only (FSTP) and I've been waiting for 25 weeks already.

Dave080 follow this link: www. esdc. gc. ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/reform/tables .shtml (remove the spaces, noobs can't post links ;))

Supposedly if you fall into either one of the trades in the list or if you are in the top 10% wages you're eligible for 10-day processing, which isn't guaranteed.

I applied way before the rule, so mine didn't fall into it.

ButterflyChemist, so no $1000 fee for LMIA when you're eligible for EE?

Thats right, employers will be exempt from the fees once using the express entry system to sponsor workers for PR. My job offer is permanent but I'm not sure if employer choose PR only or PR and TFW

You are correct Butterfly. Employer can either choose to apply for Permanent residence or dua intent LMIA which can be used for TFW as well as PR application purpose.

But the free LMIA is only in the case where CIC will organise emplyees and employer meeting after waiting if no Candians is willing to take up the postion. This process is entirely done by CIC I guess. Employer can not play much role with the free LMIA process.

If employer wish to get worker quickly they will have to apply and pay for the LMIA their own.

What did they want to know today?

They wanted to know about a couple of applicants, why they weren't right for the position

The same rules apply to the process of hiring a foreign worker and the LMIA requirements. The only difference is that the fee will be waived. It is expected that employers would only seek people from the express entry pool if they cannot find a canadian or pr

Hi Dave,

Same for me: BC, s/w engineer, top wage. Expedited processing was explicitly required by lawyer (however in the middle of process), but I'm on 11th week of waiting...
