LMIA application processing time?

My employer has emailed them to get some kind of response.

Is it normal to go over a month without even hearing anything? that its been received or processed or anything?

I've heard nothing since my application was sent in on the 5th of august.

Yes - it's perfectly normal not to hear anything given the process can take several months. I think your employer is inquiring way too early. But they can by all means try...

I'm hoping it doesn't take several months.

I've heard each case is different though and people get approved in a couple of months.

Hey So I have better information on my application.

Applied for my 1st LMO in April- this was rejected as the company address was missed off the job posting on jobbank.

My current application is for Human Resources- NOC code 1223 for Alberta
Application submitted on July 4th following 4 weeks of advertising.
27th August case offer from TFW unit calls my employer to ask for a transition plan which is being worked on.

They have been super helpful and stated they want to get it approved, and will help ensure our transition plan meets their standards- also have my immigration lawyer reviewing and hoping to submit TP by Friday 12th September.

I am hoping that a decision will follow closely behind that, I feel confident as my employer has sponsored my AINP application which is 6 months from complete- I also just submitted an application for CEC PR as I have 2 years Canadian experience. Fingers crossed covering all bases will help.

Ok, that's good, best of luck! Just for the record though, your application was submitted after the changes, so would need the transition plan anyway.

I have decided to get an immigration lawyer,

It it means biting the bullet and spending some cash to get this ordeal with quicker than i will gladly pay.

I read one story about a guy on these forums getting a LMIA approved with 17 days in alberta for restaurant manager.

I am still at 1 month and no contact, time to speed this up!

I cant understand why service canada say 10 days and new rukes and new procedures..... and it takes in some cases 2 or 3 months!!!

I'm curious as to how yours was approved so quick..

We are both in Alberta and both have the same NOC code, i am 34 days in and still havent even requested payment.

Service Canada do not say 10 days for this specific NOC and if I remember correctly your wage was lower than the provincial median, so in your case you had neither of the 2 requirements for the 10 day rule.

I earn above the median, same province, same noc.

Hey Yeah- I was confused between the dates of my first application and second application, but youre right. Not sure how my employer AND immigration lawyer missed the transition plan, seems we are lucky to have been given the opportunity to add it at a later date.

I guess you can also opt for a Transition plan exempt if the job offer/contract is for under 2 Years period

This is only for jobs requiring specialized/unique skills
