hopefully they will have faster processing times in 2015 as my lmia app is getting prepped as we speak and get sent in 5th jan unless the rules changes.

Hi everyone so glad to be in this group I wanted to share my LMIA approval time line for NOC 6474 LIVE IN CAREGIVER

My employer advertised the post for live in nanny on November 17th
Submitted LMIA application to CIC Ottawa on November 29th (advertised for only 13 days on job bank I thought we would get refused for sure because of lack of advertising time but we dated everything November 30th exactly the 14 day advertising requirement)

However on December 23rd 2014 they received official posted mail from CIC with positive LMIA ;D ;D ;D and it was dated December 17th 2014 so that was really fast only 19 days from submission to approval

I am so so happy now I just have to apply for my work permit, I already submitted my documents to my online application page just waiting for my employer to get over the Christmas season lol so she scan the LMIA approval letter to it send to me then the waiting begins hopefully its not too long CIC has the Trinidad and Tobago processing time as 1 month I hope that's true will let you all know how it goes!!!!!!!!!!!!

So happy for you and glad to see a fellow Caribbean national here. Hopefully my LMIA comes soon. My employer closes for the week from Christmas to New Year so perhaps the result is there waiting for them. Who knows. Good luck with your work permit application.

When applying at the border what kind of documents do you need besides from the approved lmia + job contract? How do i prove to the immigration officer i have the experience/education for the job?

Congrats to those who got their LMIA!! What a relief...
Some are definitely working in SC during holidays...
I had some news from my employer. SC lost in november the additional information they asked to my employer who, since, was trying to phone them to know what to do.
The woman in charge of my case finally phoned back on Monday, back from a 8 day-food poisoning leave, to ask again for the pieces of information they needed. She said that she would "release" my file to the next step as soon as she receive the documentation (wednesday). It shouldn't be long now...
