Hi!
I’m currently in canada on a young professionals visa, expiring on the 17th of june, 2019.
I have found a new employer (different to the one on my work permit) that was willing to support a LMIA application under NOC 6211- retail sales supervisor.
We filed the LMIA application last week but i have a few concerns.
As we are in the LMIA process, i wish to stay in canada while waiting for a LMIA result.
—> first question: Should i attempt to ask for change of status under a visitor or under worker (There is a way to apply under worker waiting for a LMIA if my status expires in 2 weeks, has anyone got any experience?)
—> How long does it usually take for the employer to obtain proof of LMIA submission (file number, not the end result- aproved/denied)
Continuing the story,
uppon further research, i’m worried that our LMIA will eventually get denied due to lack of advertising. So i plan to talk to my employer and ask him to start another advertisement process while we are waiting for a reply from the government for our first submission in case it gets refused.
On that note, i’m wondering where the threshold for high/low wage stream is.
—> Is the median wage based on the average provincial median (23.98CAD for BC) or the median wage posted under the job’s NOC number for the province/area (19.23CAD for retail sales supervisor-6211- in the interior)
thank you very much!
I ready appreciate any support on this matter!
