LMIA applic. steps + waiting time?

Hi
Does anyone have a simple way to describe/list the steps for an employer to take to apply for an LMIA/sponsor someone?
Just want to make sure I have understood everything correctly and can explain it to my employer.
Also is there anywhere to find the waiting time for a work sponsorship/LMIA?
Will be applying from BC.

Your employer needs to follow the directions here:

The process is fairly involved and your employer needs to make sure they get it right.

Including the 1 month of advertising, expect the process to take 3-5 months.

It's only a month of advertising before the LMIA application is submitted - however the employer has to continue advertising while the LMIA is being processed (which could be several additional months).
