Hello there,
I am on my PGWP and I been working for a year now in canada and in my feild. I would like to know how likely you will get positive LMIA. I know one of the requirements that if the job they can't can't find canadaian then they can hire foreign.

Can the job get approval if they can hire canadian to fill the job and yet they still have me as their employe?

I want advices or if anyone has been through that please share your story. I am looking to go to that path I am just not sure how strictly they are. Please help or share your experiences here. Thanks guys!

If you can find an employer who is willing to pay you way above the median salary for a specific NOC job then you have a high chance of approval and will get LMIA in relatively short time.

My employer once applied for LMIA to hire me and he was willing to pay me just a bit above median salary for the NOC time. The whole application process from the date the adds on the websites matured 2-3 months to the day his application was rejected took 4-5 months.

getting positive LMIA is depends on your employers, how strongly does he wants you to stay in their company.
your employer has to show that you are the perfect fit for the position. why others couldn't replace. and employer has to post advertisement for this position , and will also interview couple candidaces,.

Another thing to mention, my employer called the government after LMIA rejection and was told that his company was not in the list of eligible companies for LMIA. He had talked to consultants and nobody had told him about this. Also, make sure the company who is applying for LMIA to employ you makes at least a few millions of profits every year. A small local company will definitely not be eligible for LMIA.

I have seen people getting LMIA on this forum, but they are exceptions who have special skills needed in the industry, working at big companies and making way above the average salary for their job position.

There are 2 main streams of LMIA, high wage and low wage. My employer applied for high high wage LMIA because I am a tech guy. Therefore, my comment was about the high wage stream. Your case may be different. Also, they sometime have special streams for specific job types. You will have to do some research with regards to your profession.

I wish you luck!

Check the website of Employment and Social Development Canada and the process and requirements for LMIA are there.

I work for a small business with just 3 employees including myself and we were able to get an LMIA after the second try. It's quite a tedious process (not impossible though) but if your employer is willing to support you, then you're in a good place. Just ensure you follow the process to the tee (ie advertising methods) else they can refuse your application for missing out something.

Good luck!

How long did it take till they process your LMIA application?

Also is there a link you could give me about all of that?
I looked in cic not much about high wage and low wages nor advertising methods.
