Hi there, I was hoping someone could shed some light on my situation.

I have been living in Canada on a visitor visa (EU passport), with my boyfriend for the last 3 months (we've been in a relationship for over 3 years)/

We plan to marry here and then return to Brazil to apply for the visa in the outland category.

Will I be able to return to Canada while waiting for the visa application to be processed outland?? Can I return with my European passport? And can I tell the border agent that I have applied and I am waiting for it to process while staying in Canada as a visitor??

Looking forward to people's experience on this... thank you so much!

Yes you can. After my work permit expired I left Canada and re-entered a week later as a visitor. There is no guarantee that they will let you in at the border but with an EU passport your chances are really high. Best thing to do is bring your marriage certificate, proof of insurance and funds and if possible proof of submitted application when you enter Canada

Also, I'm saying this in case you don't know:

you don't have to leave Canada to apply Outland. You can be physically present in Canada AND have a Canadian address AND apply Outland. These things are not mutually exclusive, so if you were thinking of going to Brazil just to submit the application, you're not required to.
