Just needing some clarification please....

Filling out the "Application to Sponsor" and just came to question about living exclusively outside of Canada. I am a Canadian citizen and a resident of Canada (have been all my life). My common law partners visa is up at the end of the month and we decided to apply outland as its quicker. We have decided to travel for the duration of the process and use his home country (Ireland) as our base while we do so. (I have dual citizenship so am able to live in the EU) We will leave one day after submitting our application. Technically I will not be a resident of Ireland. This brings me to my question...1. Will my residential address be my current address in Canada? and 2. Am I living exclusively outside of Canada? I know I will be gone for the entire duration as we don't want to be separated.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I live exclusively outside of Canada, down in the States. I've applied to sponsor my husband and son. In my application I have to show intent to move to Canada. Which is what you'll have to do too. Good luck!

What does "using Ireland as a base" mean to you? In other words, where will 'home' be for you? If you will be moving your goods to Ireland and living out of a home in Ireland in between a series of trips during your time abroad then your residential address would probably be there. If you will be traveling as if it was a vacation 'home' is still your Canadian abode in your mind - and where your belongings are - then that would probably make more sense to list as your residential address (especially if that's where you're going back to after your travels).

As a Canadian citizen you may sponsor him either way.

Agreed. As long as you're not a PR, you can sponsor from anywhere. You'll just have to show intent to live in Canada after.
