Hello,
I may need to move to the US for a year or two (maybe more) to take care of my ailing mother before she passes on. I currently meet the residency requirement for citizenship application and would like to apply but I don't think I can wait around here long enough to get it before she badly needs me.

Is it still a good idea to apply? Do I not need a Canadian home address for the duration of the application process? It it mandatory to be living and working in Canada throughout the whole process?

Thanks

I should have done a search first. This thread in this forum is similar to mine:
"Moving to the US after applying for citizenship"

Mods, feel free to erase this thread. Sorry.

Apply Before you leave. Very important. Make sure you use a mailing address where you will still be able to get your mails.
