Live & Work VISA problems

Hi guys,

I have 2 drink driving offences on my police clearance in Australia that I received when I was in my early 20's that I believe prevent me from getting a VISA to Canada? Has anyone applied with drink driving offences and been granted a VISA?

I was born in England but live in Australia, and have a British passport.

Is it possible to get a police clearance from England where I dont have any offences and get a VISA using my British Passport, but enter from Australia?

Im clutching at straws as I really really really want to live in Canada. Does anyone know of any other ways I could get a VISA?
Anything that anyone can help with would be great! Thanks!

If you want to immigrate to Canada you will need to provide police certificates for both Australia and the UK.

How long ago were the DUI convictions? If more than five years have passed since the completion of your sentence / probation then you can apply.

If less than five years have passed then you are inadmissible to Canada.

So you're basically asking if you can lie about your background to get into Canada. Lying to immigration is always a very bad idea. If it doesn't catch up with you now, it will catch up with you later in ways you can't even imagine. No one here is going to help you to lie. People who lie are the reason the process is so bad for the rest of us.

You need to wait out the five years until you qualify to apply for rehabilitation.

On the work permit application it will ask if commited, been arrested for, been charged with or convicted of any criminal offence in any country.

So if you do not mention your offences in Australia that would technically be lying on your application.

If you have a british or Australian passport, why are you appling for VISA or Permit?

First you don't need visa to enter canada.
2nd if you need a permit you can get it at border. You need to provide them your employment info tho.

Read the OP's original post, s/he is criminally inadmissible to Canada under any category, without being rehabilitated.
