Live-in caregivers are not elligible for permanent resident anymore?

Hi- i received a very alarming news from a friend today. She apparently received a noticed from cic advising her that she can't no longer apply for permanent residency instead CIC allow her to renew permit every 4 years.

Can anyone here clarrify these matters?! Or is it case to case?!

Really? Does her initial entry to Canada under Live-in Caregiver? or she just shifted a work job category to Live-in Caregiver?

There must be some issue with her file. I don't think any of us will be able to comment further without additional details.

very alarming indeed...but so far, if you check the website, LCP is still in the list of ways og getting to be a PR at Canada...no updates yet about this news...maybe, you could ask your friend the details of her case so we could be informed and clarified on this matter...Thanks!
