Live in Caregiver

Hello guys! I really wanna live in Canada and I have been looking for 'how'. Please can anyone therefore help me with how I can get a job as a live in caregiver? How long does it take for the visa to be processed etc? Would really appreciate that. Thanks in advance!

Another thing I would like to know, do you know if I have to show certificates to prove I have the 6months training the scheme requires? This is because, I did a 4 month caregiver training program in 2009. I moved on to the next stage which is a 1yr 2months training program, but stopped after just 3 months of enrolment because I ran into immigration problems in my current country of residence. Based on this, how can I prove I have at least 6 months training?

Can one combine both caregiving working experience (lasting less than 1 year) and training?

Yes - you must show a certificate/diploma from the school to prove you have six month's of training. I don't think you can count the 3 month enrollment since you didn't finish the course. Also, you unfortunately will not be able to count the 4 month program you complete in 2009 since only training completed in the last 3 years is considered.

Sorry! I didn't answer this question. To qualify to apply as a live in care-giver, you must have at least one full year of paid experience in the last three years OR at least six months of full time education in the last three years. You have to meet one of these criteria to qualify.

So no - you unfortunately can't combine both.

processing for caregiver applicants in the philippines is 20 months!
