I sent my application for wp on the first week of September. Time depend how you sent, it's faster if you apply online and for new employer... Let's wait and see... You OWP is coming soon, I believe on the first week of December...

@ Strikenannies, did you send it online? Is it with new or same employer? I sent mine last 31st of August 2011 online with same employer. The processing time says 76 days. I hope there is no problem because I had difficulties in scanning my documents. I'd rather wait for my WP than waiting for my OWP( 17 months now), I am getting frustrated everyday. Lets just keep on praying that GOD will touch the heart of those officers holding our applications, IN JESUS NAME... AMEN.

I knew someone who passed application april 2011 and got her open work permit this november!
It is true because my friend told me that her friend sent OWP/PR application last Jan. 2011 and she got her OWP in March 2011.Her family received the LC2 kit too... I was trying to question myself, what is special about her because mine I sent May 31, 2010 and until now my family haven't receive LC2 kit and I haven't receive OWP yet. It is unbelievable.. I just told my friend that I don't really believe on that. Or maybe her application got mixed up with the Jan 2010 applicants. Because that time,Jan 2010 applicants got their OWP.

and also can i go back here in Canada without any problem if i decided to go to the Phils (without PR Card yet) to get married considering i have with me my Open Work Permit? thanks in advance for your replies!! :)

@jadeon- You should wait for your landed interview than go for vacation...you will receive a letter booking this interview, of course you can change dates but it will delay your PR.

It will take a month until your interview than you can go and have fun...

by the way, when did you send you application?

@ monalizy- congrats!

Rosell- I will keep everything the same, even after i get my PR. Dont worry!

@jadeon congrats on your OWP. when did you submit your application? If your single most likely your PR is along the way. But if you want to go home as OWP holders you still need to get re entry visa. If you will change your marital status you have to inform CIC right away bec you may not be able to sponsor your husband unless you already got your PR before you get married.

@monalizy as the OP original poster of this thread i salut you! Your journey is over i hope us who are waiting will also see the light at the end of the tunnel.
