So that's it? We just have to suck it up? It is just so unfair! Why are they doing this to us???!!!
As long as everybody just sits and wait here there is nothing we can really gain we can cry and curse everyday but without actions nothing is gonna happen,we plan to protest everyday but nothing is happening,me im always on the go if one is happening here in toronto,i watch news everyday, look at this forum,Tweeter, facebook but nothing is happening, everyday we got the same frustrations which can only end if we recieve some good news on our ecas and our mailbox

@bambigirl the problem is all caregivers are scattered all across canada so there is not much force in one province to strike a protest,if someome is nice enough to to take responsibility and bring all the caregivers in one place will make it possible, but then we all know thats hard to happen,i talk to atty fabregas on tweeter and he said he needs a 110% support from us to help us,but i guess there is not much support he gathers so there is no actions happening

hi bambie youre moving in ontario now? Is it ok to move to another province while waiting my OWP and unemployed?? Im planning to move fr ontario to manitoba nxt yr coz my bf lives there :)

Speaking about restoration fee. I also applied for PR and OWP on June 2010 under LIC . In october 2010 I found a new employer. On the moment when I applied for a regular WP for the new family my old work permit was expired ( only 3 day!). I attached the letter saying that I was already on implied status. Nevertheless, my papers were sent back after 5 months of waiting(! when the processing time for regular WP was only 35 days) and they asked me to pay extra 200$ -restoration fee. I didn't argue with them, just sent them 200$ and all the papers back and recieved my WP in 5 days!( they can be fast) Everything they needed - just money.

This is ridiculous.I called Vic about this and they said I can apply for a new work permit and not applying a restoration.I can't do that now coz my current wp is expired for 6 months now.Restoration is just 3 months or 90 days after your wp expires.

Maybe that 4months they're talking about is for the PR interview after you receive the open permit...

Oh this is good news but how do you go about renewing it?

the customer agent told me to send a copy of the CareCard and a copy of the official receipt for the Open Work Permit application..the address is at the back of your CareCard..
