Thanksgiving and it's done? I need to know to book my flight!

@ katileia count me in to come to the demonstration if its in toronto i hope we will get some back up from higher up people like olivia chow i heard she is in favor of conditional pr for caregiver we will surely create More noise if she is on our side

There are lots of caregivers in alberta province right?how about a peaceful demonstration in front of CIC vegreville office where our beloved visa officers work everyday we should create some noise in front of them too,maybe they'll even talk to you

The officers that works on vengreville just follow orders! We need media to help us, Toronto I believe it's better, the media is closer and if we stop the traffic, there's no chance that the government will ignore us. Who is in Toronto has to decide where we will meet and what path we will cover... Maybe an avenue closer to a immigration office...I don't know Toronto at all.

We need to make sure that we will have at least 50 people in that!

But There would no processing delays if you were all granted PR upon arrival. Nobody seems to see beyond their own problems. I'd like caregivers to care about all the problems under the LCP, not just those that directly affect them individually. As PRs, no work permits anymore. No OHIP issues. No family separation. Higher wages. Better protection. Less abuse.Why are caregivers not demanding that? Why so fixated on processing delays?"

@katileia we need to spread out its better if all caregivers can go to toronto for the protest but i know its impossible so i just suggest we make noise in every part of canada we all have to do our part here coz we are all fighting for it we can't just sit while others do their part

I am in Toronto and I will be one with whoever want to do a peaceful public protest.
Before setting the date, we need to create a Forum page just for asking who is coming, so we can have an idea of how many LIC can come. Also, check the best day (thanksgiving?) and what are we going to say. (talk about delays for OWP e PR, talk about health care been refused when we ask for it and we are on implied status/looking for another family... and so on..) and give Fabregas idea: get PR right the way when we starting working..

I recieved a letter today too after i got my OWP yesterday,but in my letter it doesnt have any interview date yet. it just saID THAT I HAVE MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR PERMANENT STATUS AS A MEMBER OF lic CLASS. WONDERING IF EMILYCC OR MONALIZY RECEIVED THIS LETTER TOO. THANKS GUYS. i CALLED cic AND THEY SAID ITS JUST A GENERIC LETTER, BUT i STILL WANNA MAKE SURE. THANKS GUYS.

i received the same letter as you. but no interview date yet. i dont know when will it be. i hope that next week will be in my mail coz monalizy had her letter for interview appointment after one week prior to receiving her OWP.


@ khrizzy....i got the same letter u got after i received my OPen Permit, i was trying to called CIC but line is busy. Just wondering after u got this letter what next happened with your application? did you got ur interview for PR oc cic called u for interview date? pls reply thank u som much...Godbless

Hello LIC's am new on this forum but I've been following you guys since it was around 5 pages, being an LIC dependant takes a lot of patience understanding and trust to my hubby who is my LC1 with 3 young kids (12 y/o, 5 y/o and 3 y/o) for three (3) years now being a single parent to them is never an easy job as a mom and dad, the agony of waiting much more the kids longing for their dad around during school activities, family days and among other occasions half of their life is missing because of this prolonged delays of processing and reunification seems gloomy nowadays as I keep myself stronger during these times while am trying to give CIC the benefit of the doubt on how they handle the so called "backlogs" ...I guess everyone should come out of their shells for the sake of your loveone's a Peaceful Protest is a great idea, LIC's in every province should organize and meet in one place coordinated, your voices should be heard spontaneously , You guys are working hard for the welfare of Canadian families the young, the elderly, and the PWDs across the whole nations and provinces you are paying taxes to the Government and you deserve what was promised to you, a faster PR and reunification with family and since Canada is a free country you have all the right to exercised your rights...the 400 plus lic's on FB account should come out post all your voices on the fb wall, tweet anytime of the day, post your horrible experiences on this forum, bring with you a banner when you meet up in a place, act and be heard I know somewhere someone's been reading all the posts here and most of all PRAY..it can move all mountains be steadfast in praying to make you feel stronger and hopeful in the grace of God..these days will all come to an end just be patient enough to continuosly doing what is just in fighting for your rights...Keep fighting and never lose Hope... May God be with you always..... KUDOS MABUHAY LIC's!

Hello All. just want it to share and keep giving hope to all of you. Finally after 15.5 months I got my OWP for a year. Please keep praying and think possitive. I totally understand it is sooo hard and frustrating, I almost "kill myself"... seriously, I lost a lot of hair because of this stressful situation, but finally it is here. I hope I get that letter for the PR interview soon.

Thanks molo... They received my application on June 24, 2010, single w/ no dependants, and I live in BC Vancouver. just married w/ a canadian. Good luck to you too.
