Hi,

I just got my work permit under live-in caregiver program. I thought I can start to work immediately. Suddenly my employer, the father and mother, situation change where both of them no longer in a good term and decided to spilt everything up and to file for divorced. Therefore they said they no longer need my service right now. So my question is, even I did not work with them at all but I have my work permit under this employer name, do I need to get a ROE( record of employment ) from them? I have basically zero working hours with them.

In the meantime, I am looking for new employer so I can change my work permit again. May I ask that do I send the 2nd application work permit to
Vegreville,AB in Canada if I manage to find a new employer? Do they need to apply for a LMO again this time since I'm already in Canada?

Thank you for your insight.

God Bless.

Hi,

you will definitely need a new LMO for your prospect employer. You will need this LMO for your work permit application. You don't have to secure ROE from our current employer since you have not actually worked for them.
work permit is processed at CPC-Vegreville...good luck! c",)

Hi ,

If I do not need to secure a ROE from my ex-employer which basically I have zero working hours. So, should I still send the contract with the ex-employer and also the new employer which reviewed by hrsdc under LICP for the PR application?

Thank you, Natsy, for your replied. I really appreciated all you help.

God bless!

same thing happened to me 3yrs ago...when i came here, the employer who sponsored me decided to keep her current nanny(supposed to be a temporary nanny while my papers are still being processed in the phils.) because she doesn't want the kids to adjust again to a new nanny(me)...so i looked for a new employer and as soon as i got my new lmo, i applied to change conditions (new employer) in my work permit...i only sent my new contract and new lmo, etc...no need for you to send your contract from your previous employer because what you will be applying this time is for your new employer...c",)

...and someday, when it's time for you to send your pr application, you don't need to include the contract and lmo with the employer whom you haven't worked for...roe and contracts and lmo are just needed by the cic to make sure you meet the criteria (24mos or 3900hrs of work to be qualified for pr status)...so your contract and lmo from the employer whom you haven't worked for will not count...c",)

Hi nasty,

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm actually still in shock that my 1st employer doesn't need me anymore. It is easy for them to just laid us off but nobody know about all the worries and hesitation that we go through is to much to take on us.

Thanks again, nasty. I hope all the best to you as well in getting your PR!!!
God bless! :)
