Thank you so much. I had been through a lot of struggles too before I finally touched down Canada and I don't want to happen for all the aspiring caregivers what I had experienced. So if ever I have my knowledge on their issues I will share with all my heart. Goodluck to you all.

Well I was a direct applicant but I let my consultant processed my visa. It doesn't matter if single parent or divorce as long as the employer is qualified to hire the nanny by the proof of income and can provide a better accomodation.

Hi all,
For those that received approvals for their visa in June or July have they received their passports yet? Our nanny received her letter on February 8. I believe with Chinese New Year things have been delayed. We were hoping she would get her passport today so we could have her in Canada next weekend.

Thanks everyone for sharing their thoughts.

hi denyelay i just wanna know if u have idea about my situation. just passed my passport to visa office today and they told me it will take 3 to 4 weeks. i just resign until march 10 and allow to stay here in hk until march 24. i wanna email cic to expedite my application. do you think there is no affect with my application if tell them that i already resigned?

anyone have idea is welcome...thankx in advance

@denyelay, were you allowed by the cic to stay a few weeks in your home country before leaving to canada? Is it possible?

Hi Ana,
Thanks for letting me know. I don't believe she requested that the passport be expedited. Do you happen to know the process to do this? Although it is coming up to a month on Sunday of this week so it may not help at this point.

Thanks for sharing this information! Looks like timelines for everything have increased.

I don't think it wilk affect your application since they asked your passport for visa stamping. Just tell them that you are allowed only to stay until March 24, 2015. Many applicants send an email to expedite their application due to status in HK. They are really considerate. Goodluck.

Well in my case I didn't go home but yes you can still go home in your country once the visa has been received, the problem is in the immigration of your country if they will ask another requirements and processing to be able to exit. By the way, where are you come from?

Go to HK immigration and ask gor the extension of stay but email first the CIC and explain your situation in HK so they can expedite your visa. Goodluck.

My Nanny has applied for live in caregiver permit on 24 October 2014 from HK office. She has recently submitted Singapore police clearance as well. All her documents have been submitted now. Can anybody tell me the timelines please? When can she expect to hear from embassy? She is presently working in HK.
