hi, im jaypee a live-in-caregiver here in Bc.. im applying for our PR ( my wife & I), my wife is still the philippines.
my questions are..
1. do i have to fill up 2 of each forms for the application of permanent residency?
2.do i have to submit the original copy of my wife police certificate even if she's in the phil?
3. do i have to pay the Permanent residence rights together with the application fee?
4. im also applying for my open work permit, how many months will it take to be approve?

Hi,

If you do not know how to fill out the forms and you have so many questions. It might be a good idea to have a specialist to help you.

1. you need to fill out the forms for both you and your wife
2. Yes, you need to submit original NBI and others if she lived outside of Phils more than 6mos.
3. You do not need to pay the Permanent Residence rights fee, but paying it early means they do not have to ask you for it.
4. Your Open permit will be issued months before your PR.

1. Fill up YOUR application form, your wife will have to do hers when she receives the LC2 kit.
2. Attach what is asked for on the document checklist for YOURSELF so the police clearance of your wife she can attach later.
3. No you don't have to right away (takes 32 months as per cic website to process the PR), but if you have money to spare thendo so
4. Based on experiences of applicants since Dec 2011, 3-4 months for your OWP.
