Live in Caregiver applying for PR and OWP at the same time

Hello, I am under LCP I think I am almost ready to apply for PR with option 2. I have some questions about this...

1. If I had authorized Vacations and I went out from canada, Can I count this time???

2. If I was paid for full time 44 hr a week in AB, can I count these hours even if I worked 40 or 42 hours a week.. which hours should I count: ones I was paid or just ones I really worked ??

4. One of my employer calculated the hours worked without count statutary holidays, I mean If a worked a full time a week (44 hr) but it was a holiday She didnt count this day... off course she paid me for that day but she said she can not count hours for that day cause I didnt work. Is She right?

3. Should I send the both application PR and Open Work permit in the same package?? or separate ?? Should I following the instruction for every one, I mean both of them say photocopies of every page of passport....should I have double copies?? according with the checklist I will need to send them to the same address but different office.... what should I do????

I am under the LCP too.Why do u pick option 2? I think it is kinda complicated somehow ,for me i picked option 1. I didnt even go for vacation,so i'm nt bothered.You must sent bot your PR and OWP to the same Address. since your work permit is still valid,i dont think you av to send photocopy of all other document for the OWP bt well you might just put it.

Thank you. For me option 2 because I don't have 24 months yet but I do more that 3900 hours, so I think is good for me.

Is there any update about the status of your application yet?
Kindly post here your timeline coz as I could see you are the first one who will submit the application under option2.

Thank you. For me option 2 because I don't have 24 months yet but I do more that 3900 hours, so I think is good for me.

@anne555- nope it is option 1 they are saying that you could pass ealier? i am not quite sure about it, did you pass yours already? are you single or with dependents? thanks!

@monalizy- cognrats! i ahve few questions, did you pass your application after your 24 months? if you ahfve dependents, does my husband has to fill up also the forms ? did your NBI came from the consulate and nad it taken from the pinas> thanks for the enlightenmemnt!

Can anybody in this forum give me any great advice .....i completed my 24 months of work as livein caregiver last June 1st 2010.I sent my application for PR and OWP last June 3rd 2010 and the CIC received it JUne 7th 2010 according post office tracking number..My employer wants to lay me off from work this July 1st because the kids are grown ups so they dont need my service anymore.My question is..... could it jeopardize my application for PR and OWP if i am unemployed bcoz getting LMO and for the new employer takes 6-7 mos processing..Pls.help..

Hi rosell,
In option 2, you can send application as early as 22months granted that you completed 3,900hrs.
I'm single and no dependents.

@libra girl= you should phone the immigration or service canada, you can have you EI and it is not your fault if you are being laid off, coll the srvice canada for it, dont worry!

I agree with rosell..

I guess you should have a valid work permit till they issue your PR, thats why most of the applicants are extending their contract for another yr w/ their employers till their PR will come out.

Still your case is different coz you were being laid off and its out of your control, chances are you need to look for a new employer to give you a work permit before you can go on w/ your PR application...

Again, I'm not so sure so about it so you better call them and ask for a concrete answer.

thanks for a quick reply.i did extend my work permit 'til feb.16,2012..im just a bit anxious bout it coz I read in the forum that if u're unemployed the cic immigration will stop processing the paper 'til u got a new job.....thank :-*
