hi
I'm applying for the live in care give giver program and was hoping for any advice or idea of time lines. I currently work as a nanny in BC under the IEC work permit which runs out July. they want to keep me so are going to apply. however i only have a shirt amount of time before it runs out and they have to apply for the LMO then for the LIC program. anyone with any experience how long this usually takes or if there's anyway I can stay while its bee processed.
advice or anyone's personal experience applying for this would be great :)

Hi

In your previous post in July 2013, you asked about doing a medical so you could work with children. 10 days later, you posted saying that you had already been working as a nanny for 14 months. I'm guessing that even if you did go for a medical eventually, you worked with children for some time before that.

If so, you violated the conditions of your IEC visa and can expect to face problems when CIC finds out.

There is a recent thread from someone in a very similar situation. She was on a Working Holiday Visa, worked with children without ever having had a medical, applied for the Live-In Caregiver program and was denied. She had a few other problems but the reason given for the denial was: "You have not respected the conditions of your last work permit which clearly stated: NOT AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN CHILD CARE".

yes I had been working as a nanny due to my first IEC visa not having any restrictions printed on it. i know its my own fault for not reading thoroughly that you needed a medical to work with children obviously when i recived my second and it had it printed not authorized to work with children i asked and discovered i shouldn't have been on my first visa. I got the medical done and it came through in October. My employer is only oing to state i worked as a nanny from when my medical came through. i meet the experience with children as i worked in a nursery for three years before coming to canada.

Be very careful with that. CIC tends to find out things, especially when there are official records such as Canada Revenue Agency tax info.
