Hi all,

I am a newbie here. I found this forum as I was searching more information about Canadian visa. I have a little enquiry about National Occupational Classification (NOC). I have read the requirements needed when applying for SKilled Worker. The thing that I did not understand was the classification of skill type O, A and B.

Thanks ever so much for your help.

Hi Scotia_girl

Welcome to the forum. There's a new occupation being developed at the moment so you might as well wana wait for that before you decide which code your experience/qualifications best fit in.

Good luck

You can find your NOC information at http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC-CNP/app/index.aspx

If the first digit of the number is 0, then it is a skill level O management position job.

If the first digit is not 0 but the 2nd digit is 1, then it is a skill level A job.

If the first digit is not 0 but the 2nd digit is 2 or 3, then it is a skill level B job.

Thanks for all prompt replies.

I have been searching information about visas and immigration for Canada and the Canadian website is so confusing. I do not know which one to follow. lol

Right, I will explain my situation at the moment.

I have just graduated from the UK university in July 2008 and I am an Indonesian nationality. I am currently holding a visa which enables me to work here. But I am interested to find jobs in Canada, I want something different in a new environment.

Based on the information from the website and this forum, I conclude that I have to have a job offer first from the employer then I can apply for work permit or skilled worker (am i right?). The question is, is it really easy to get a job offer from the employer? As I know, if it is a professional job (e.g. business analyst, software developer, etc) then it's possible to get the offer. But what if I want to find (for the beginning) a job as an admin assistant, office assistant, data entry, and etc, is it possible to get the offer?

I have been searching some companies, employers or employment agencies to find jobs but it does not state anything about the eligibility to work in Canada. I am so confused :(

Any help would be appreciated so much.

Thanks.

It has been hard for many to get a job online. When you are applying for jobs, make sure you tell them that you are a foreigner and will need a work permit. The employer needs to get a labour market opinion for the job and you need that before you can apply for a work permit.

You can read about this process at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/index.asp
