I was just wondering how long do you have to be off social assistance to apply for Spousal Sponsership. Can you apply right after you get off social assistance for spousal sponsoreship?

As far as I know, there's no amount of time you have to be off, however, the most important thing is to call them to make sure you are not receiving any more social assistnace payments, but also that your name is completely off their list for receiving payments, and that you get a letter confirming it.

There are many cases where the sponsor goes off welfare, but are refused, because they didn't officially get their name removed 100% off their list.

No amount of time, if you came of today you can submit your application tomorrow, just get a letter confirming the last time you received a payment and your no longer on it, and get a letter of employment or pay stubs to prove your current income.

You have to get your name taken off the "list" completely. I've heard of CIC questioning sponsors because they were still on the social assistance list for their province, even though they had not taken social assistance in months.

What letter? To state that you're no longer on welfare? You would have to contact the welfare office that you dealt with for that.
