Linking paperbased applications to our mycic account

Hi guys!

For those who applied via paperbased or via vfs, has anyone tried linking their account to their mycic account? it means that for those who submitted via paperbased, we can only get updates thru email, but when we link it to our mycic account, we can get updates thru our my cic account, thus no more updates in our email.
So has anyone tried? Is it worth linking? Does it mean we can get more updates?

I have linked my paper based application with mycic account. According to CIC you get realtime update regarding your application, as like online applicant do. Don't know much about it. However, I think linking has started recently so do not have much information regarding paper based application. May be they will improve it more. As under submitted it shows no documents submitted/no documnets required for this application.

Really? I wanna link my paper acc but I'm having second thoughts.

Y? Do u want them to update u through ur email address tht u provided?
Bcz thts the only dofference i can see i.e. if u link it to mycic then instead of emailing u the update they'l update ur mycic account...is there something else the matter for ur second thots?? Shd i stop trying aswel

No. I just wanna see if there's already a "passed" on my medical because if you passed via vfs they only update you if your passport is already dispatched thats it.

So why cant you link your account?
From what country are you in? I'm from Philippines so the processing time here is 12 weeks. Its been only a month since I passed my application.

Im from Pakistan..its been 51 days since i submitted my app..got medical cal on 22 march and got done wd it on 31st
I dnt knw y..the site gives a message tht sometimes the application hasnt been updated in the embassy system so try again later...i think its a new system of linking so its not really fully and properly established yet around the world...

Hi i linked also my application to my cic, ive done my medical april 28 and submitted april 30 but my acct doesnt update upto now, its bee, always 6 weeks..so anxious
