I received the AOR1 today and face the same issue while trying to link the online account . Leaving blank space for city of birth pops the error of missing information . Once I add the same - it says unable to find the application . Any luck on how to fix this ?I tried this combination, I hit space bar on the "City/town of Birth", it gave me a warning saying to fill in the Country of birth .
Me too it's giving me the same massage I want to know how the others link it with blank space?I received the AOR1 today and face the same issue while trying to link the online account . Me too samething, how did others do theirsMe too it's giving me the same massage I want to know how the others link it with blank space?
You do not need to do it within the timeline, or at all. It's not mandatory - but if you pass the 7 days, you can do it anytime throughout, so don't panic.I'm having the same problems! Tried with caps, no caps, blank passport info, all combinations of app number+UCI+name, and no success. I have used up my 5 daily chances and no luck... I even tried using IExplorer instead of Chrome. Maybe those who are using space bar in the city of birth are using Firefox? I can't try that because I used up my tries of today In the email it says I have 7 calendar days to link it, but it seems to be impossible and I've only 2 days left D:

Thank you so much. The above details were so helpful. The only difference is that I had to enter the City of Birth as per the submitted application. Also, the total number of persons is "2" me the sponsor, and the wife. I thought the number is "1". I didn't enter passport details. All other details are copy/paste from the email confirmation or the application.Hi all, I was finally able to get the system to find our application. It didn't work until today - I swear I tried this info combo before but who knows. I can confirm that since our representative is using the paid representative portal it gives me the following message:
"Based on the information you entered, we found: 1 application
We see that you have a representative tied to this application. Your representative has access to your application.
If you no longer want to use a representative and access the application yourself, you can cancel your representative by filling out the Use of a representative form [IMM5476] (PDF, 647.96 kb) and choose "cancelling the appointment of a representative."
I have no intention of dropping my representative, just an FYI. I don't believe this shows up if you're your own spouse's representative.
The combination of information that I used to find the application (finally) was:
1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my husband, no dependents.
It popped up saying 1 application was found. Hope this helps someone trying to link their account.
Hi there, I still cannot link my application. Our application has been in for over a year. Even our lawyer can't do it and cic never answered our CSEs, our trouble shooting technical inquiry, etc. Please, can you give me the number you called to get them to help you over the phone? Thanks!
I was finally able to link it. I called for an agent, and apparently the problem was that they had another city of birth than what I wrote in the application. The city is the same, it's just that they had a different name registered. Using the name they had automatically gave me a result.
So for those who have problems linking, the information has to match what they have on their system and not necessarily what you wrote exactly, so if you're sure you are entering the correct info, give them a call. Another problem the lady mentioned could happen is if your name is too long and they shortened it, it won't match. Finally, if it's spouse sponsorship, you do have to write 2 people.
Hope it helps somebody
A lawyer can only link through the rep portal. You can't link the same way others do that do not have representativesHi there, I still cannot link my application. How do they do that? Our MPs office sent us the trouble shoot way to do it that a lady from CIC sent them to send to me to send to my lawyer.A lawyer can only link through the rep portal. You can't link the same way others do that do not have representatives
