Thanks a lot for the reply. Below is the current summary:

Application/profile status - Open
Review of eligibility - Review in Progress
Review of medical results - Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents -
Scheduling an interview - Not needed at this time
A background check is needed - Not Started
Final decision - Not Started

So dear, the background Is not started...you will receive an email when they update something on your application...but you still have a couple of months wait until they finalize the application.

Thank you everyone, finally I was able to link my husband's application. As we checked, there it shows different stages of process.

It still mentions that my husband's file is still under reviewing process. It will be almost 1 year this Dec and the file is still under review.
I am worried. Does it take so long for the file to be under the review process?

Please could someone advise. Making me tensed.

What was your last update from them if you don't mind me asking?

Order GCMS notes to get further information on your file. This will also alert cic that you are ordering notes, and "may" remind them to look into your file.

Hi,

Thanks. We received an acknowledgement with the file number in Dec 2015 (along with the request to submit the clearance certificate/medical documents). We submitted the same in Jan 2016 and haven't received any update since then for my husband's application.

Since the above was already created but I had not received any confirmation I had called back CIC and in May they sent we a letter stating sponsorship approval.

Not sure if this is normal to not get any update so long ?

You are still within processing time so it's fine. However, it should be a faster process this year. Where is your husband's visa office? Your application should have been transferred there after your SA. Usually, it's an AOR2 email your husband receives when the files has been transferred.

The Visa Office is in New Delhi. I checked the processing time online and it says 18 months.

But, I heard that some files were processed faster in India too, that is what made me worried.
