I'm a UK citizen coming to the end of my current temp work permit (1 year by the end of Aug), having been working as a postdoctoral research fellow at a university. I recently applied for it to be extended for 4 months with a new contract from my employer. It's the same project, albeit switching to a part-time basis.
I'm a little concerned because I have a return flight booked to the UK on Aug 20th which cannot be pushed back. So, I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how likely/unlikely it is that my application will be approved/rejected.
I'd hate to be in a situation where I stay, choose not to take the flight, only to be told the application has been rejected and I need to book a new flight immediately.
Any thoughts appreciated!
