Remember to go and register for OHIP as soon as possible (with list of documents required). You can register anytime but the OHIP card will arrive by mail just 2-3 days before coverage begins. The date will be on the card.

Remember these private coverages are for emergencies only. A routine doctor visit for cold/flu etc for us was refused by the company.I forgot the name though but it was cheap. Turned out to be useless.

I agree with you. People hardly get good service from these private insurance companies.

Despite the fact, I'm looking for the coverage to bridge the gap out of fear....

You don't need to register as soon as possible. You can register at exactly 3 months time, and you'll get a temporary OHIP number on the spot you can use immediately.
