Light on duties of 0213 FSW? any successfull applicant?

Hi

perhaps they are being more strict on 0213.

They want to see Managerial functions, every IT person is claiming to be a Manager.

I don't understand what they expect to see in duties.
I was really positive about the duties i mentioned. I think my all duties were manegerial level.
I just doubt they didn't see my additional sheet but tht's not possible too as I pinned experience form and additional paper together.
Anyways,
I will try to PM you my duties if possible.

I am so sorry to hear this - what exactly did they write to you while rejecting?

also, referring to Maharrouf's list of duties, I DO NOT find the following as duties in a managerial capacity:

• Evaluated user needs and system functionality and ensure that ICT facilities meet these needs;
• Scheduled upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems;
• Researched, upgraded and installed new systems;
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system;
• Ensured the smooth running of all computer systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email provision;
• Ensured adherence to software licensing laws;
• Provided secure access to the network for remote users;
• Ensured the security of data from internal and external attack;
• Provided users with appropriate support and advice;
• Manage crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems;
• Mentored and trained new IT support staff;
• Designed and administered organization's local area network;
• Evaluated the organization's technology use, needs and recommended improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades;
• Met with organization's executives, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems;

If you had written any of the above (or the company letter), these are strictly systems analyst & developer/programmer activities, there is a high possibility your application getting rejected.
Since 2171 etc. roles are no more in, it is possible by CIC to believe that analysts are applying for manager roles;
a typical manager should be able to hire & fire his team members (or plays a role in recommending hiring & firing), make decisions on their promotions & bonus payments (basically is a decision maker in terms of resources, budget/cost)

(my opinion; i am not a lawyer, I have managed medium scale portfolio in IT)
