Hi all,

We are always discussing about how to get PR and the problems involving in EE.. However, life in Canada after becoming PR is also very important.. Thus, I would like to start a discussion about the life in Canada after landing. Please share your experiences including searching house, jobs and other informations. It will be useful for upcoming people and others who are interested in getting Canadian PR.

I know that most of the time canadian companies won't consider international work experience. So, new comers face problems in finding jobs related to their field of expertise. This is the main issue and many discussions could be found on Google and this forum.

Please mention other problems that newcomers will face expect weather....

I think the International work experience counts depending on the country you are from. I am from the UK and my work experience counted for a lot when I got a job here, basically the reason why I got the job over other people. If you have work experience and have an education from say India (just an example), employers may see this as inferior to experience and education from the UK for example. This may be right or wrong, it is not for me to say, but just to say they don't consider International experience is wrong in my opinion.

Hi Guys,

I too think that we need a thread like this. There are so many in this forum who got help during the application process from the rest of the members. Once they are in Canada, they can share the experience helping the community back.

We can discuss stuff like:
finding a place to stay,
getting around,
places to eat
the things you guys did
mistakes you made

specially during the first two three weeks after landing. This will be a lot of help for those who are going to come in to Canada after you.

I'm long time away, but i will definitely share my own experience if and when i get there. :)
