My wife works with Toronto Public Library since 2001. she started as Page (who stocks books in library), She did her Masters in Library Science and working as Librarian in Toronto Public Library.
Some steps for library job for you.
1. Not easy to get into Library job in Toronto public Library (They mostly hire High school students).
2. Librarian Jobs are always with seniority
3. Most of Jobs in Public Libraries are Part time (you get more hours though depends on availability and requirements).
4. Very well paying job (for librarian ($30-36) and customer service rep (19-25), Page (11-15).
5. Edmonton Public Library is always looking for Librarians and Assistan Librians . you will need to evaluate your degrees.

Usually you apply online and My suggestion is you walk in to the specified library who is hiring and hand over your resume. My sister in law did same and got job as Page too (she is in high school).

you don't need any computer courses for this job, you need to have knowledge of MS word, MS excel and power point. mostly librarians use excel sheets to do schedule and also power point for presentation if any.librarian79 said:
