Letters of Explanation

Had a small doubt.

Wherever letters of explanation are needed on my uploads for PR, should I write the letters of explanation on the same PDF as the rest of the documents or should I use the separate "explanation" section that seems to be on the page where documents are to be uploaded?

Further, should I print, sign & then scan the LoEs or just incorporating them directly on the main PDF without printing be alright?

Also, in case of explanation with relation to documents of my spouse (who is the co-applicant), would it be better if she signs them, or should I do on her behalf? (assuming of course, that I do need to sign and then scan the documents)

I actually had this exact same question yesterday. I was advised to make just one LoE, and upload it in the LoE section, instead of having multiple, and having those mix with my documents.
I also saved a document directly as a PDF and uploaded that, rather than printing and scanning it.

I followed the second approach, I wrote different LOEs on education, POF, Passport etc merged all of these letters in one single pdf using a free tool(https://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfsam/) found through google search. Since I wrote LOE on 5 different things with supporting documents included in them, so I add one more page at the start of LOE in which I briefly described the contents of my LOE.

Not an expert here but I can tell what I did in my recent submission. I did sign LOE, took a scan thereafter.

Again not an expert here, but I guess there is no harm if you both sign on the document.

I used both approaches. I merged some LOEs with their respective documents, while I used master LOE for explanation of things that didn't have any supporting documents, like travel history that didn't fit in the form and visa rejection explanation.

There is no need to sign LOE so I just merged them in my PDFs. Also, as a primary applicant, I wrote LOEs on my husband's behalf.

At the end of the day, I don't think it really matters how you do it. In my 9 months on this forum, I have never seen anyone getting refused over an LOE so you probably shouldn't wreck your brain over it. Just do what seems the most logical to you for your case.
