We're using letters from relatives and friends to prove intent to move back to Canada as well as to prove our relationship is genuine. I'm wondering, if we have some of the same people writing letters for both sections, should they write two separate letters or one letter in which they address both our intentions to move back and that our relationship is genuine?

Also any tips on what to include in the letter?
How they know me. How they met met my husband. What things we've done together. Their opinion that our relationship is genuine. Anything else?

Thanks! :)

I'd suggest that each person write only one letter, but that you spilt your cover letter into sections and refer to these letters numerous times in different sections. For example, we had a "Proof of relationship" section and a "Moving back to Canada" section (i.e., proof that we're actually returning). In each of these, you could refer back to the same letters but for different purposes.

My thought is that they should be concise. I imagine that it's tiresome to wade through all these documents, so they probably appreciate the facts stated briefly. Ours stated, for example, why we were moving back to Canada, where we'd stay, etc. Basically, anything that showed we were planning the logistics of the move as proof we were moving back. While we didn't have to include letters as proof of our relationship because we had lots of other evidence, I'd agree with your suggestions. I think anything that reiterates what you've already told them in your application supports your case. But that's just my 2¢... :)

Hello,

Make sure friends and relatives write that they will offer support and assistance if needed in terms of finances, shelter and living. Give examples of events and specific activities, timing, when they met your spouse and general excitement of moving back. Also, have them write that they are aware of your plans which will serve as additional proof of intent.

I had a situation where i needed to provide more evidence of intent to return. Provide copies or e-mails from moving companies, or carriers you contacted to move your stuff back to Canada. A good thing would be a non formal letter from your employer stating that they aware of your plans to move and will make it formal as soon as you have a positive decision. Any proof of contact with landlords in terms of renting an apartment or home. Proof of a bank account or any renewals of ID's, passports, etc. would also serve as proof. We also attached a possible flight we would take once my spouse gets her CoPR, print screen of flight review.

Hope this helps :)

Cheers
