Hi everyone. Inspired by other post. I think all of us should come together and create a specific email to email IRCC about our citizenship delay and send it to the IRCC Minister. If you have any suggestion for the email please write it down below. I am November 2019 applicant. It has been hell waiting forever now. Let us all create a template below and send it to IRCC minister and other people as well to get them to process our application. I am with the Edmonton office so I will use my office in the template.

I would not waste time. Immigration minister will be gone in 2-3 weeks

You are so confident that Liberals will loose. I hope so that as well but you never know. :-)

I think conservative will be more focused on improving current backlogs rather then bringing in more people to jam the system.

Last time I believe in 2014-15 Conservative party made big changes to citizenship requirements after 35 years without changes. To apply for citizenship at this time you should live in Canada 4 years in 6 years period, 183 days in each year and .
Immigrant can lost citizenship if convicted in some sirious crime, but born citizen can't lost citizenship (second class citizens).
Not many immigrants can apply for citizenship with these requirements.

After some time Liberal party took control and returned everything back to normal 3 years in 5 years period, etc.
I remember I was so angry that day when bill 24 passed...

It is not about liberals loosing election. Cabinet ministers are assigned by prime minister, so either way immigration minister retires. That's my thought

You can’t stop people from applying for citizenship if they qualify. I can only imagine if someone told most of the forum members that they had to wait to apply for citizenship. There would be outrage, talks of suing, etc. so I find it funny that someone would suggest not letting people apply for citizenship while clearing the backlog on a post about complaining to the immigration minister.


Imagine things like intent to remain in Canada will likely return or at least having to remain in Canada you apply for citizenship. Eliminating credits for time on temporary resident status and going back to the 4 out of 6 years may also be on the table. O’toole is even more right leaning that Harper. Would imagine public sector hiring freezes if not cuts will become the norm.

In each case IRCC is not working. Hire 100 more and still the results would be the same. IRCC is above the law with absolute power and absolute power courrpts a mind.

Yes ofcourse people will be outraged. I never said they can stop people from applying. All I wanted to say is that bringing in more people will only increase the inefficiencies within IRCC who can't even process small amount of applications per year, imagine 10000s more.

We are all speculating nothing that we can do except raising our voice and making IRCC accountable. :-)

I am very hopeful whoever comes to power makes IRCC more efficient. that's all.

I totally agree
other provinces are able to complete the applications within time but Edmonton or Albert office has a lot of delays. They are completing 2021 applications before 2019 and 2020.
I am in to sign such email
