Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi,
I am currently employed in an IT company and want to pursue my Masters. I see that many universities need atleast 2 letter of recommendation. Should I get it from my employer or I should get it from the professors who taught me during my Bachelor Degree programme?

Suppose if it should be got from my employer then to whom I shall ask it for? Manager? team Lead? or anyone else? Which is advisable?

Hi Adhav,

You usually need at least one letter from a professor who taught you something before. This letter should assess you higher education ability. You must ask about the admission requirements for each program you want to apply to. Employer recommendations is good as well, but universities need to know how can you do in the learning environment. If you're going to get a letter from the employer it better to be from someone who can assess your work and preferably someone in a high position. Hope this helps.

It depends on the type of program you are applying to. If the course requires more of your academic skills then your Professors are a better choice. If the course is more geared towards a job then a letter from employer will be very helpful. There are programs which prefer students with work experience.

But anyway, if I were you I would take one letter from my employer. Because a letter from a prof and a employer will carry more diverse information about me than two letters carrying from one of the kind.
