Well, you have nothing to lose by requesting reconsideration, but you should get a new letter from your employer verifying your full period of employment, otherwise there will be no chance.
CIC instructions are to provide a "recent" letter - yes, that is vague, but the letter should NOT be dated BEFORE you complete your experience requirement, because then it doesn't cover your full period of employment. CIC will only give you credit for the time period covered by the letter. The letter cannot cover "future" experience that hasn't happened yet.
Yes, CIC could contact your employer to verify continued employment, but (a) they are only required to consider the evidence you supply, and (b) why would you want to create extra work for them? That will only slow down processing for you and everyone else.
I'm afraid the VO did his/her job correctly. But you could get lucky, let us know how it goes.
Hi jes_ON,
I see your point on this. Actually the employer that I worked for was already closing at that time, that's why we requested for an earlier employment letter to them. Fortunately, I did got a hold of them and ask for a new one. Well, I never thought that this will be an issue since I also submitted my paystubs to them and also Record of employment together with my application. I guess I have to try this one. If not I will reapply and work experience wont be a problem to me anymore since they change it to 1 year and also I'm currently working as well to same NOC to another company that hired me.
Thanks for your input on this. Would you know where to send the letter? is it on 219 Laurier Avenue West, 7th Floor, Section B Ottawa, ON?
