Visa Officer,

Subject: Letter of Explanation for Study Permit

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter of explanation in regards for my study permit which I have recently applied for. I applied for study permit on September 26th, 2019, (UCI: 61713395, application number: S303722622). On October 26, 2019 I received a letter from CPC- Ottawa, NHQ regarding my refusal for Study permit, which stated that 1) “I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.” 2) “Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, financial ability, and/or your future prospects and plans.”

I would like to address this concern mentioned in my refusal letter:

I indent to pursue Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Schulich School of Business from York University emerged for various reasons. Schulich School of Business is known to be one of the top 10 business schools in Canada for under-graduation as well as post-graduation. However, York University does not accept applications for Schulich School of Business for Winter intake which is when I intent to join York University. In regards of that, my first major choice is BComm Major, however, I am still waiting upon the final decision from the admission’s office. Due to that, I will be pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Financial and Business Economics, but I intent to take an internal transfer to Schulich School of Business during Fall in-take.

In response to your concern that I may not leave Canada after completion of my studies, I have no intention of staying back in Canada after pursuing my degree from York University. One of the many reasons why I chose Business program as my degree is because I am from a business family and my father owns a Real Estate Company, Oceanic Homes, Pvt. Ltd., in New Delhi, India which I plan to grow my father’s business using my knowledge and skills which I will hope to gain from York University. More importantly, beside pursuing Business Administration as my major, I also plan to pursue a Professional Certificate in Real Estate which is exclusively offered by York University. The reason why I plan to pursue this certificate because I believe it will later help me to gain valuable experience in Real Estate firms back in my hometown and utilize that experience to take over my father’s company and expand the business of the company. I was very intrigued to gain knowledge in Real Estate business after recently being an intern at my father’s company. I was passionate about the how well the Real Estate market works in India which lead to grow my father’s business in my hometown. Owning a Real Estate company allow to invest in several on-going projects which are currently available in the market. The house which I currently live in, is owned by my father, and in the future, my father and I plan to rent it to officers from American Embassy in New Delhi. This is one of the other reasons why I would not stay in Canada after the completion of my studies. Beside my family business, Indian culture is all about staying close to beloved ones and my mother, and my father who currently live in India, are one of the most important reasons why I will most definitely go back to my country and stay close with them after being away from them during my studies.

In response to the second concern mentioned in the refusal letter is attached to this letter of explanation. Those are the academic records and my current mark-sheet from my current institution, University of California, Riverside. I am completed my high school from an English-speaking institute from Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Currently I am enrolled in University of California, Riverside, where I am pursuing Business Administration degree. However, U of C, Riverside, does not offer any kind of Real Estate programs or certificate which is not beneficial for my future goals of getting a job in Real Estate in New Delhi neither joining my father’s business.

I hope that I have efficiently addressed the concerns which were mentioned in my refusal letter. Please find all the requirements documents below attached to my Letter of Explanation.

Sincerely,

Anchit Sethi

I would really appreciate if you can give me some feedbacks on my LoE and kindly let me know if there anything I can add on to it.
