Guys, let this thread become the go to thread for all current and future canada aspirants to understand what LOE is all about and Why and when should we need to attach the same to our application.

Also seniors, please post sample LOE's over here so everyone can come to know its format, and what to include, what not to, and how do you explain your circumstances in the LOE for whatever reason.

Hope this becomes much useful for everyone. I personally need this kind of a thread as i need to make a very effective LOE since i personally am going to MAKE a gift deed with my parents to show my POF as well as have certain name changes in my ECA report to clarify of.

Looking forward to everyone's reply. ::) :)

There is no standard format for LOE. Depending on what you are using the LOE for (POF, absence of formal reference letter, difference in name etc), you will have to customise the letter.

Basically LOE, would include the following.
- Explain the situation why you are taking/have to take a deviation from CIC requirement (for example: why you cannot get a specific document in a required format, or why the names are different in different documents, or why you do not have 6 months bank statements etc etc)
- What proactive steps you have taken to meet CIC requirement.
- What documents you have arranged and list them in the order you have attached them.
- Polite request to the officer to consider your case based on your specific situation and the alternate documents that you have submitted.

Many thanks stanley.

However, if someone do post a sample LOE that they have used for their application, then the format of that LOE will be quite useful for others.

I doubt whether anyone would be willing to share their LOE as it would have personal information and circumstances explained. You can look up on the forum, I could not find any specific format that anyone has shared. However, here are some links, which could give you some insight on the same.

In my opinion, the best you can do is draft your own LOE and get someone to review it.

Thanks I will have one drafted and include a heading that reads "Letter of Explanation".

HI all,

I was once refused from visit VISA of Singapore. So I say Yes to this question ---- Has Shehzaib ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country? and give a Letter of explanation. Although they have not mentioned any reason for refusal or put any seal on my passport.

Can I write to whome it may concern or address the VO in LOE?

TIA

Yes, you will have to answer 'Yes' to that question.

You can address the LOE to IRCC, Canada.

Thanks a lot for your reply!

Has Shehzaib been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

Answer of this question will be yes also or only the first question?

Looks like the answer to this will also be Yes. In the LOE mention the questions to which you answered Yes and also explain the reason or circumstabces around the same.
