Hi, I have always been wondering. Do I even need to write a Letter of Explanation if I am an 18 years old student who is going to Canada for a Bachelor's degree, and not a Master's degree? From what I seen, Letter of Explanations are more important for those who want to pursue a Masters degree in Canada, not for those who want to gain a Bachelors degree.

My GPA is around 3.7, my SAT score is 1210 and I also passed the SAT's Essay portion. Wouldn't these credentials be enough to proof my purpose of visit? The university doesn't require IELTS from me either.

Hi,

In my opinion, the Letter of Explanation is not a must, but it could help to express your wish to pursue study in Canada. In your case, you can tell why you want to study in Canada but not your country.
