HEY ALL

I HAVE A SERIOUS CONCERN. I HAVE HAD TWO JOBS. ONE JOB MAKES ME ELIGIBLE FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY WHILE THE OTHER DOES NOT. MY MAIN CONCERN IS I ONLY HAVE ONE LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT FOR THE JOB THAT MAKES ME ELIGIBLE WHILE THE OTHER JOB REFUSED TO ISSUE A LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT FOR PAST EMPLOYEES AND SAID THEY CAN BE CONTACT DIRECTLY IF THERE ARE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS. ALL I HAVE FROM THIS COMPANY IS A RECORD OF EMPLOYMENT. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I DO HAVE THE LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT FOR THE JOB THAT QUALIFIES ME. SHOULD I BE CONCERNED??

If the other job is not skilled, dont think of it. Just mention them what you are doing and how much you are making(add paystubs T4 Etc.) You dont need employment letter for unskilled job.

The Eligibile job is critical in PR application, just make sure you meet all the requirements with the eligible job(Letter, no of hrs, etc...)

First of all go find a key on your keyboard labelled 'caps lock' and press it!
It's flipping annoying reading the all caps text.

If the job you don't have a letter for is not skilled, then don't worry about it, you don't even
need the reference letter for those jobs.
Just make sure you mention the job in the background declaration form.

Instructions state to provide a letter of employment for all jobs in Canada for the last 3 years. So I don't entirely agree with the above posts. I would say that yes, you are supposed to provide that letter.

I would agree, however, that if you cannot get it, there is no reason to sweat. Simply provide a written explanation of why you cannot get it, self-report all the required details, attach any evidence (e.g. email where they refuse to provide it), and the ROE. And that will be OK.

No, you don't need to provide letter if your work experience does not qualify under CEC requirements. That is not material information and it might confuse the officer and result in application delay.

I had part-time jobs before my current full-time position, I didn't bother to get any letters from past employers, just mentioned those positions in my background info.

That is not stated in the instructions nor on the document checklist. Rather than making up your own rules (however sensible they may be), my recommendation stands - follow CIC's instructions as they are written.

Work experience in Canada:
"Up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers for the past 3 years."

Thank you very much. I misunderstood that part. Another Question, I am still trying to get an answer on.

I have received two letters of employment, I am worried that one of them looks too similar to the NOC Website and the other looks okay but not detailed enough. Read 'Work experience requirements' in the application guide and read everything after '3 years' in the checklist.
I was not making rules, I was sharing my case. I did not provide irrelevant information, and I my application was approved.

If you cannot see the difference between material information and non material, I rest my case. The checklist clearly asks for a letter that will help immigration officer assess application and say 'yea or nay'. Letter regarding unskilled labour will make him think ' @ #$%.' Dixi

I agree, don't let them have a reason to refuse your application, remember it is based on pass/fail and the officer has no time trying to figure out what you mean by not submitting what is asked.

Ok!! where I got confused is where it says """letter of reference from your "Past and Current" Employers"". My past employers qualifies me for CEC and my most recently employer doesn't. but I understand it now...please read my next question, I need help with that!
