Letter from Employer - Seniors Please Help!

Hi

I am planning to apply CEC in the month of December. I am in the process of collecting documents and was wondering if there is any specific format for letter from employer. Also, are different information needs to be includes on the letter.

Basically the Letter should state:
Your name
Designation
Date you joined office in Canada
salary

And if your company is kind enough to mention your job duties (which is very rare).

And they may put there phone number if CIC wants to contact them.

Date you joined office in Canada (End date as well, if applicable)
salary (and benefits, if applicable)


And if your company is kind enough to mention your job duties (which is very rare).

REQUIRED - your application will be rejected if the letter does not indicate your job duties that are consistent with a skilled NOC.

And they may put there phone number if CIC wants to contact them.

REQUIRED. In addition to being printed on company letterhead, CIC likes the business card of the person signing the letter.

ALSO required is whether the position is considered part-time or full time, and the number of hours worked per week

Now, this is really confusing.. there have been some suggestions on this forum that even if the duties performed are not mentioned in the reference letter, as long as the LMO was approved for the 0, A or B categories of NOC codes, the application is not rejected..

Can someone who got their application rejected because of employer not mentioning the Roles and duties in the reference letter please share their experience (if they happen to read this post)?

Nothing could be further from the truth. The duties MUST be in the reference letter, otherwise CIC will have no way of knowing if your job matches the NOC code.

This board is littered with applicants who have been rejected for this reason. just do a search and read...

A reference letter with clear mention of the conditions/roles/duties is probably the most critical document in a CEC application...
Most rejections are due to a lack of/problem with - reference letter.

Hi guys,

I'm having a problem very related to this topic. I just got my Employment letter, which is very simple, but it's lacking of my duties/responsabilities. Which I know this is bad, and I'm actually working in getting a new one.

The thing is I dunno if they are gonna send me a new letter with all the information I need, or they will just send me another simple letter just stating my duties/responsabilites.In the second case would it be ok if I sent both letters in the package ?? Or truly It needs to be everything in just one.

MeThinks thats another nice way of getting around the employers who have fixed format for reference letter, and don't want to bend rules for a foreign employee just becoz he wants to get PR and independence from them..

I think two letters would be accepted. One would be better, but lots of people can't seem to get that...

I am picking up this old thread of mine, as I am seeking your invaluable suggestions to clarify another doubt I have regarding this reference letter..

The CEC guidelines state that this letter should be 'Stamped with company’s official seal (if applicable)'.


Now, what does that 'if applicable' mean.. in which situation it would be mandatory to have the letter Stamped with company's Official Seal..

It is "not applicable" if your company does not have an official seal

This is one of those weird requirements that seems to have migrated from FSW applications, where letters of employment are required for all employers outside of Canada as well. The official company seal is more common in some countries, not so common in Canada, I think. My letter didn't have one. If it's on letterhead and you have the business card, it should be OK.

Agree with jes_ON. In some countries, companies do not have letterheads instead all their letters go on a plain paper with the official seal. In other words, a company seal on a plain paper is an alternative to letterheads.
