Hey folks,

So I'm a May applicant and still waiting for RCMP request and medical. I sent them an email informing them that I got married in February and this is their response.

Dear applicant,

Your application is part of a group of files that has been transferred from CIO-SYDNEY to the Case Processing Pilot-Ottawa (“CPP-O”) office to speed up the creation and processing of your application. All enquiries and correspondence must be addressed to the CPP-O office, unless directed otherwise.

Your case is currently in queue for review by an officer. Our office will get in contact with you regarding the next steps in due time.

I applied for my GCMS notes and will receive it in 2weeks time. I'm wondering why they transferred my files? Any thoughts?

Hey,

Don't worry, All files go to Ottawa for processing after our CC get charged, if you need to notify CIC of anything after you reciever you AOR, use the following website:

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=ottawa

what happened with you is normal, Don't worry.

cheers

Thank you for your prompt response. It's been 10 months now and haven't gotten my MR yet. Can't wait for my GCMS notes.. Ugh.

I know that the wait makes you frustrated at times. Just be patient and hopefully your GCMS carry some good news to you.

Good luck

It sounds like you sent the email to CIO-Sydney - wrong place. You need to inform CPC Ottawa that your family status has changed -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/ottawa.asp

ALL CEC files are transferred to CPC-Ottawa. This information should have been in your AOR. CIO-Sydney only does intake.

The e-mail that I received was from CPC-Ottawa. Although I remember sending both emails to Ottawa and Sydney.

Sorry - are you adding your spouse to your application, or just informing CIC that you got married (e.g. to a Canadian citizen)?

OK, then you're fine. That strange response only means they received your email and you don't need to do anything else at this point (other than... wait : ) ).

Hi,

Did you get any response from CIC again? I am in same situation. I am a June applicant and I got married to my Canadian spouse 3 weeks before. I got passport request last week. I have sent an email to ottawa to let them know about my marital status change. I have attached my marriage certificate and a copy of citizenship certificate of my wife with the email. Do you know how long it takes to get a response? Should I send my passport now or wait until they advise? Since my wife is a Canadian citizen, she needs not be entered in the the application process.

Thanks in advance!

You can send your passport, this doesn't affect your application and you have met your obligation to inform them -

Thanks a lot for your reply!

This is part of the email:

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. The following is required to complete your application.

STEP 1: STATUS CHANGE (If none of these conditions applies to you, you may proceed to STEP 2)
Has your family composition changed since our last correspondence?
· Have you married or divorced?
· Have you given birth or adopted a child?
· Do you intend to get married or divorced prior to becoming a permanent resident?
· Do you intend to give birth or adopt a child prior to becoming a permanent resident?
· Have you changed your contact information: e-mail address/mailing address/telephone number?

If any of these conditions apply, you must inform CPC-O immediately:
CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

You will be asked to submit evidence such as a copy of the marriage, divorce, birth or adoption certificate or a letter advising when and where the marriage, divorce, birth or adoption is expected to take place. Any new spouse and/or children must be added to your application and be found admissible to Canada before your case is finalized. Failure to declare additional dependants such as a spouse or children before you become a permanent resident could result in the cancellation of your permanent resident visa. Once your file is closed, you would be required to submit a new application and pay new processing fees. Any new application would be assessed under the Act and Regulations in force at the time of its submission.

STEP 2: PASSPORT(S) REQUEST

We require a VALID passport for you and for each accompanying family member. Passports for you and all accompanying family members must be submitted together. There must be at least one blank visa page in each passport. If there are children included in your passport there must be blank visa pages for them as well.

########################################

It seems, I cant send passport until I get any further notice for them. They advised to send the passport if there is no change in family composition. What do you think?

Hi Alyssa, I have similar situation like you. I sent an email to cic one month back, still waiting for the response. Did you get back anything from the regarding your inquiry? How long it took? Please let me know. I am really worried now and your experience might shed some light!

Thanks in advance!
